<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly and highly accurately detect that a human body on a bed starts a bed-leaving movement. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This bed-leaving prediction apparatus includes a transmitter 2 for transmitting an ultrasonic signal to a management area 8, a receiver 3 for receiving the ultrasonic signal reflected in the management area 8, a position computing means 4 computing three-dimensional positions of the head parts of patients on beds or of objects other than those based on the reflected wave data acquired by the receiver 3 and classifying the three-dimensional positions into a group of a plurality of the head parts of the human bodies and a group of the other objects, a determination means 5 detecting a temporal change from the recumbent position of the patient's three-dimensional position based on the computing result of the position computing means 4 and determining whether or not the patient 10 on the bed starts the bed-leaving movement based on the detection result, and a notification means 6 issuing a notification signal when detecting the start of the bed-leaving movement of the patient 10 by the determination means 5. The determination means 5 includes a deletion means 21 deleting a group of head parts whose movements are untraceable for a predetermined time or more, from a subsequent processing.
