<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket assembled in a terminal block, in which the dimensions of connecting metal fittings can be decided freely, without limitations by elastic holding metal fittings, or the like, for obtaining a smaller sized socket. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A box-shaped connecting metal fitting, which electrically connects the connecting terminals of an electric device and wires, is arranged in a terminal block provided with connecting terminal insertion holes, in which the connecting terminals of the electric device are inserted, in one-end side, and provided with wire insertion holes, in which the wires for external wiring are inserted, in the other-end side. Connecting terminal contacting portions which contact with the inserted connecting terminals are formed on a first surface parallel to insertion directions of the connecting terminals of the box-shaped connecting metal fitting and the wires, and wire-contacting portions are formed so as to contact with the wires inserted in a second surface intersecting, perpendicular to the surface. Furthermore, in the box-shaped connecting metal fitting, the elastic holding metal fittings made of blade spring holding the inserted wires 22 by pressing toward the wire contacting portions are assembled, and release buttons are provided in the terminal block for elastic deformation in a holding-release direction, by pressing and dislocating the elastic holding metal fittings.
