Provided is an electric vehicle control device including: main power sources (1-3) for supplying DC power; a power conversion device (8) for converting the DC power from the main power sources into AC power for supply to a vehicle drive motor (9); a power storage device (7) for storing the DC power arranged in parallel between the main power sources and the power conversion device; a chopper device (5) connected in series to the power storage device for chopping DC power from the main power sources and regenerative DC power from the power conversion device for supply to the power storage device; and a free wheeling diode (6) connected in series to the power storage device and in parallel to the chopper device for introducing the current in the direction for supply from the power storage device to the power conversion device.
