<p>Provided is an electric power steering device, wherein the steering wheel can be returned to the steering wheel center even when the steering angle sensor has failed. When control is performed to return to the steering wheel center based on the steering angle and the yaw rate, the gain of a yaw rate sensor (13) is increased when a fault was detected in a steering angle sensor (12). When at least one of the two sensors fails, the damping gain in a damper compensation unit (23) is reduced. A large return force can be generated in response to the increased detected value even for a smaller actual yaw rate, and the steering wheel can be returned to the steering wheel center. In addition, the damping component for the return force to the steering wheel center can be zero, and the return to the steering wheel center is possible by means of the self-aligning torque.</p> |
