<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-recognizing device which very accurately recognizes a moving object which is detected in a size of about a pixel block. <P>SOLUTION: In an image recognition-processing part 16, an evaluation value computing part 21 and a movement area extracting part 23 generate multiple kinds of evaluation values, which represent the characteristics of images, by using movement vectors, two-dimensional DCT coefficients and encoded information (image type, block type) which are generated when image data are converted by encoding to MPEG-type encoded data or the encoded data encoded by the MPEG method are decoded to the image data. Then, an updating processing part 24 conducts image recognition with macro blocks as the minimum units according to determination rules which stipulate relations between the evaluation values and various objects. Accordingly, even if the objects are about macro blocks in size and the movement vectors are difficult to generate, the movements of the objects are detected from the evaluation values generated on the basis of the two-dimensional DCT coefficients. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
