摘要 #CMT# #/CMT# The apparatus (100) has a water reservoir (1) rigidly connected to a sealed lower volume by a flow regulator at a lower end of a cylinder. A transmission device transmits measurement signals produced by measurement sensors to a receiver (222). The regulator controls displacement speed of a piston in the cylinder via a water flow transferred between the volume and the reservoir. A rod traverses a sealed upper wall of an anchoring bell (2) such that a portion of the rod is extended outside the bell via an opening of the bell based on position of the piston in the cylinder. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for carrying out measurements at bottom of a lake (2) a method for carrying out measurements of a sediment layer present at the bottom of a lake. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for being immersed in a water storing lake of a power dam (claimed) for measuring and characterizing a variable thickness of a sediment layer present at bottom of the lake, where the lake is utilized for electric power generation. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The apparatus has limited size and reduced weight, so that it can be handled by two or three persons in a small size boat, thus facilitating the implementation of the apparatus in a cost-effective and rapid manner, without requiring the intervention of divers. The apparatus measures and characterizes the sediments by utilizing inexpensive and commercially available components. The sensors enable the apparatus to produce, in real time, measurement results characterizing sediment layers present at the bottom of the lake. The design of the apparatus permits to carryout the measurements in the lake having high depth.
