<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meandering control system and a meandering control method can effectively suppress meandering of a sheet-shaped article even if carrying conditions of the sheet-shaped article are changed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The meandering control system carries out meandering control by using a guide roller 110 changing a carrying direction of an aluminum sheet 1 carried along a carrying path; a first edge sensor 121 detecting meandering amount of a first detecting position upstream side of the guide roller 10; a second edge sensor 122 detecting the meandering amount of a second detecting position between the first edge sensor 121 and the guide roller 110; and a control device calculating an error included in a first gain of a first feed-forward model on the basis of detection values of the first edge sensor 121 and the second edge sensor 122, correcting a second gain of a second feed-forward model according to the error, and then calculating guide position estimated meandering amount on the basis of the second-forward model and the detection value of the second edge sensor 122.
