<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter manufactured by using an inkjet method and excellent in lightness and a contrast ratio, and to provide an image display device and electronic equipment having the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter has a plurality of colored portions on a substrate, the colored portions provided by a droplet discharge method using a color filter ink comprising a colorant and a liquid medium. The color filter is characterized in that, when an effective area is defined in a plan view of the color filter, the area in a similar figure to the colored portion with a homothetic ratio of 0.90 to the colored portion and having the gravity center at the same point as that of the colored portion, the colored portion satisfies a relationship of an expression (I).
