PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device with an ink circulation passage, which is started when a user needs to output image recording first on the day, and is controlled not to start recording till ink reaches an appropriate temperature for recording, regardless of a job amount of image recording. SOLUTION: In the image recording method and image recording device, when an image recording job having a small recording amount is provided, either the ink remaining within the ink liquid chamber of a recording head or the ink remaining within the ink warming circulation passage shorter than the ink circulation passage through a bypass communication passage provided in the ink circulation passage is warmed, thereby the ink is warmed up to an appropriate temperature for recording in a short period of time and image recording starts in a shorter standby time.
