<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow digitized documentation with a format achieving high reusability as close to the time immediately before printing as possible even when information left on printed matter, etc. is incomplete. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Information on a print document included in a print document is detected from scan data of the print document (S301-305). A format at the time when the print document is digitized is determined based on the detected information (S306). The scan data is converted to the data of the determined format (S307). A file name and the number of pages at the time when the print document is digitized are determined based on the detected information (S309 and 310).
