PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a thermal transfer ink ribbon having no print dirt with favorable productivity by suppressing the adherence of an ink mist to a base material film even in printing at a high speed with a low cost. SOLUTION: When a transfer layer 3M is printed on the base material film 2 which is traveling by using a plate cylinder 5 and a pressure cylinder 7, a voltage is applied by a constant voltage generator 10 to a pressure cylinder body 7a of the pressure cylinder 7. Thus, the surface of the side to be printed of the base material film 2 which passes between the pressure cylinder 7 and the plate cylinder 5 is electrostatically charged to the same polarity as an electrostatic charge generated at the ink mist generated at a printing point, an electrostatic repulsion force is generated between the base material film 2 and the ink mist to be repelled between them, and print contamination caused by the adherence of the ink mist is prevented.
