摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize an exhaust emission control device capable of taking an appropriate measures according to a type of performance drops occurring on NOx adsorbent. <P>SOLUTION: ECU 50 judges adsorbing performances of the NOx adsorbent 28 while performing trial reduction treatment on the NOx adsorbent 28. It is judged thereby whether drop of adsorbing performances is caused by regenerative oxidation deterioration or not, and true reduction control is performed when it is oxidation deterioration. Temperature of the adsorbent is detected while making moisture in exhaust gas be adsorbed to the dry adsorbent 28 when it is not oxidation deterioration. It is judged based on a judgment parameter P having the detection temperature reflected thereon whether permanent deterioration is generated which is not regenerative.
