PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure sensitive adhesive composition with which a surface protective film can be easily bonded to a glass surface, and whose residues resulting from the surface protective film (specifically, from an adhesive layer thereof) can be easily cleaned/removed after removal of the surface protective film, and to provide a pressure sensitive adhesive layer and a mother glass surface protective film for flat-panel display using the same.

SOLUTION: Provided is a pressure sensitive adhesive composition consisting of 0.01-2 pts.wt. of a compound having an alkylene oxide group per 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin.
