PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly insert and extract an insertion and extraction member and to appropriately remove waste fluid adhering to the insertion and extraction member. SOLUTION: The waste fluid collector includes: a container in which waste fluid that is fluid to be discarded is stored; an absorber which is provided in the container and absorbs the waste fluid; and an opening portion which is formed on the sidewall of the container, through which the insertion and extraction member provided on the fluid jet device is inserted and extracted when the container is attached to/detached from the fluid jet device, and which includes a first portion covered with a counter portion of the absorber opposed to the sidewall, when the opening portion is seen from a direction perpendicular to the sidewall, and a second portion not covered therewith.
