PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that heats a fixing roller and so on, which require predetermined temperature, from outside by an induction heating system, the fixing device using a temperature detecting means having a non-contact type temperature sensor represented by a thermopile element, thereby reducing the amount of heat applied to the temperature sensor and ensuring accuracy in temperature detection. SOLUTION: The fixing device 10 includes a pressing section 11 having a heat-generating rotating body 111 with a heat-generating layer which generates heat by a magnetic flux; and an induction heating section 12, disposed outside the heat-generating rotor 111 and generates a magnetic flux. The fixing device has the temperature-detecting means 13 for measuring the surface temperature of the heat-generating rotating body 111. The temperature-detecting means 13 detects the surface temperature of the heat-generating rotating body 111 through an air hole 127, formed on the internal circumferential side of a coil loop 124 provided to the induction heating section 12.
