<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document browsing system capable of automatically displaying additional information depending on the browsing status of a browsing person without requiring any special operation, if there is additional information added to a document, and a method of displaying additional information associated with a document. <P>SOLUTION: The document browsing system includes: a document server 3 which retains document data and additional information data added to the document data afterwards, in such a way that both data can be separated; a display unit 22 for displaying a document based on the document data; a browsing position detection unit 13 for detecting the browsing position of a browsing person who browses the document displayed on the display unit 22; a browsing position change detection unit 14 for detecting the amount of change in the browsing position; and a display control unit 16 for displaying the additional information based on the additional information data by superposing the information on the document displayed on the display unit 22. The display control unit 16 controls the display of the additional information on the display unit 22 according to the results of detection by the browsing position detection unit 13 and the browsing position change detection unit 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
