#CMT# #/CMT# The module has an electrical power steering motor (10) coupled to a steering pinion (8) by a mechanical reducer with an endless screw (11) and a worm wheel (12). A hub of the wheel is rotateably connected to the pinion. A rolling bearing (13) is located inside the pinion, and another rolling bearing (18) with null clearance is located outside the pinion. A nut (19) and an annular shoulder (21) axially retain the rolling bearing (18) on a corresponding end of the pinion and on a casing (2). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Electrical power steering module for being installed on a steering pinion for a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The nut and the annular shoulder axially retain the rolling bearing on the corresponding end of the pinion and on the casing, thus avoiding preloading of the steering pinion, eliminating the need for one of the rolling bearings arranged on both sides of the hub of the wheel, and permitting to mount the bearing with null clearance in the place of a drawn cup needle bearing. The space of the module is thus reduced, and hence simplifying the structure of the steering module at a reduced cost, simplifying the shape of the casing, permitting less statically indeterminate formation, and facilitating formation of the single casing with the need of supplementary parts. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a detailed sectional view of an electrical power steering module on a steering pinion. 2 : Casing 8 : Steering pinion 10 : Electrical power steering motor 11 : Endless screw 12 : Worm wheel 13, 18 : Rolling bearings 19 : Nut 21 : Annular shoulder. |
