IP COMMUNICATION DEVICE, IP COMMUNICATION SYSTEM EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME, AND IP ADDRESS SETTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid suspension or interruption of communication between an IP communication device and other devices under an identical network even when an IP address allocated by an address allocation device cannot be updated in the IP communication device. SOLUTION: An IP terminal 2 is provided with: a DHCP communication part 13 for acquiring an IP address and its subnet mask information from a DHCP server 3; an address space information acquisition part 16 for acquiring address space information from the acquired subnet mask; an address selection part 17 for selecting one IP address from the address space; and an ARP communication part 14 for setting the selected IP address as its own device's fixed IP address when the selected IP address does not overlap an IP address of another device. Irrespective of update success of the IP address allocated by the DHCP server 3, suspension or interruption of communication with other devices under the identical network can be avoided.
