PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing material for rubber articles, which can ensure extensibility on productive processing and can enhance stiffness in the circumferential direction, especially when applied to tire, and to provide a tire using the same. SOLUTION: This reinforcing material for the rubber articles, comprising a core cord material 1 and six or more wound cord materials 2 wound on the core cord material 1, is characterized in that the core cord material 1 has a breaking elongation of≥3%; the maximum value G<SB>max</SB>of a distance between the adjacent wound cord materials 2 satisfies the following expression: 0<G<SB>max</SB>≤3×d in the rubber article, when the average diameter of the circumcircles of the wound cord materials 2 is d; and the total amount G<SB>total</SB>of distances between the adjacent wound cord materials 2 satisfies the following expression: G<SB>total</SB>≥6×d before processed or in a state that the reinforcing materials are taken out from the rubber article and then subjected to the removal of the rubber.
