PURPOSE: An endless member driving device and an image forming apparatus are provided to enhance the cooling efficiency by reducing the reduction of the inflow of the gas flowed in the cooled reactor. CONSTITUTION: The endless member driving device(41) includes the endless member, gas transfer device, and cooled reactor. The endless member(B) of the endless revolves by the driving force. The gas transfer device(53) transfers the gas of the cooled reactor to the width direction of the endless member. The cooled reactor is formed in the downstream side of the gas transfer direction. The cooled reactor(87) has the downstream side cooled reactor towards reverse direction for the traveling direction where the surface or side of the endless member is at right angles to the width direction.
