<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having an environment information measuring means for measuring environment information (temperature and humidity) near an image forming means (image carrier). <P>SOLUTION: An environment measurement sensor 60 is disposed downstream from the end of a photoreceptor drum 11 in an air passage 50 and above the photoreceptor drum 11. The downstream part of the air passage from the photoreceptor drum 11 in the direction of air flow is a place where air warmed by the photoreceptor drum 11 passes. On account of the behavior of heat to elevate, a place above the photoreceptor 11 is the place where heat is transferred without being affected by cooling when a current of air in the air passage 50 is directly blown to the environment measurement sensor 60.
