PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a film having such optical properties as Re higher than those of conventional films, Rth low relative to Re and a suppressed haze. SOLUTION: A dope 21 is cast on a running drum 75 to give a cast film 76. After the cast film 76 gets a self-supporting function by cooling, the film is peeled off as a wet film 54 from the drum 75, wherein a residual solvent amount of the wet film 54 upon peeling off of the cast film is shown as W. In a first tenter 55, the wet film 54 is drawn in a width direction under drying to give an intermediate film 56. Drawing is conducted on the wet film 54 until 5 to 30% drawing in a width direction is attained while the residual solvent amount reaches to (W-100) wt.%. In a second tenter 57, drawing is conducted on the intermediate film 56 until 10 to 60% drawing in a with direction is attained. In this way, a film having such optical properties that Re is higher than conventional ones, Rth relative to Re is low and a haze is suppressed can be manufactured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
