<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, a portable communication terminal, and a terminal management method, which avoid duplication of use periods while assuring security, and manage the use period of the portable terminal together with a user of the portable terminal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the communication system 100, a management device 300 performs authentication of a user who desires use of a PHS (Personal Handy-phone System) terminal 110 as the portable communication terminal by whether the user as individual specification information can be specified, namely whether a telephone number of a telephone 140 which the user owns, and an e-mail address of a user device 400 which belongs to the user who can occupy a PHS terminal 110A are prestored in the management device 300, and the management device 300 includes a use period table 322, thereby the management device 300 manages use states of the PHS terminal 110 in block.
