PURPOSE: A pyroelectric infrared ray sensor is provided to determine man's presence by sensing a human body or an infrared ray emitting object regardless of motion and supplying electric signals. CONSTITUTION: A pyroelectric infrared ray sensor comprises a pyroelectric element(12), a window(10), and an opening/closing device(11). The pyroelectric element absorbs infrared energy and outputs electric signals. The window is formed on the front of the pyroelectric element. The opening/closing device opens and closes the window at constant cycles. The opening/closing device is formed of a rotational plate and a motor. The opening/closing device opens the rotational plate at constant cycles to open the window and outputs electric signals. The pyroelectric infrared sensor comprises two or more pyroelectric elements. The pyroelectric infrared sensor comprises a signal transducer.
