<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array antenna calibrating method capable of measuring with less measurement errors and a high degree of precision and further providing single-output measuring time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the array antenna calibrating method, a calibrating signal is supplied to an antenna element making up an array antenna to adjust an antenna element characteristic. As the calibrating signal, used are a signal #3, #4 or #5 which is produced by combining a first signal series #1 with a first symbol pattern and a second signal series #2 with a second symbol pattern which is different from the first symbol pattern and has a second symbol pattern orthogonal to the first signal series.
