Disclosed are a data insertion apparatus, a data extraction apparatus, and a method for operating the same, which can insert a data value by minutely changing the color of an image within the limit of not being visualized and extract the data value inserted into the image by detecting the color change state of the image, thereby easily determining the forgery of a product attached with the image or the image itself, preventing the distribution and wholesale (unfair price distribution) of illegal products, and utilizing the image for marketing/promotion such as advertisements, events, product introduction, and company introduction by assigning data attributes to the data value. The data insertion apparatus comprises: a designation unit for designating at least a portion of the image as a data insertion area; a determination unit for determining the data value to be inserted into the data insertion area; and a change unit for inserting the data value by changing the color of the data insertion area. |
