PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device including a carbon nanotube structure. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate; a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate; a first alignment layer installed on the first substrate; a second alignment layer installed on the second substrate; a first electrode; and a second electrode. At least one of the first alignment layer and the second alignment layer includes a carbon nanotube structure.
