The invention relates to a device for blowing a gas on a surface of a running strip material, that comprises at least one hollow casing (20) provided with a plurality of tubular nozzles (30) directed towards the relevant surface of the strip material (15). According to the invention, the hollow casing (20) includes, on the side directed towards the relevant surface of the strip material (5), a surface (22) having a profile (P) that varies in at least one given direction (D), symmetrically relative to a medium plane (Q) perpendicular to the plane of the strip (15), and the tubular nozzles (30) are attached at the base thereof to the variable-profile surface (22) so that the respective axis thereof is substantially orthogonal to said variable profile at the point in question, said tubular nozzles having a respective length that is selected so that their outlet openings are located in a common plane substantially parallel to the plane of the strip (15).
