ONLINE LITERARY SOCIAL NETWORK

Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system for recommending books to a first book reader in an online literary social network. The online literary social network comprises a first network of book readers connected directly to the first book reader and a second network of book readers with similar reading preferences as the first book reader. First information comprising book read status and levels of book reading preferences is acquired from the first book reader. Second information comprising book preferences, book information, reviews of the books, interests of the book readers, and time based preferences is acquired from the book readers. A confidence factor is calculated for each of the book readers. Opinions are mined from the acquired reviews. Recommendations of the books are generated for the first book reader based on the first information, the second information, the mined opinions, and the confidence factor.
