PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding type electronic device which can be automatically opened, can be stably controlled in position, and can be easily operated and assembled. SOLUTION: A sliding type electronic device includes a cover, a base with a power source disposed internally therein, and a sliding mechanism to be used by movably mounting the cover over the base. The sliding mechanism includes a static member fixed on the base, and a sliding member fixed on the cover and movably mounted on the static member. The sliding member and the static member are configured to generate magnetic fields repulsive to each other, respectively, and the sliding member is floated by the magnetic repulsive field with respect to the static member. The sliding mechanism further includes a linear motor which is fixed on the sliding member and electrically connected to the power source and when the linear motor is electrified, the sliding member is interlocked to slide with respect to the static member.
