<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing acrylic acid by which the acrylic acid can be obtained while suppressing the by-production of propionic acid, and can be produced in high selectivity. <P>SOLUTION: An acrolein-containing composition is produced by dehydrating glycerol in the coexistence of a catalyst having a boron salt and/or zinc salt of phosphoric acid, and the glycerol, and an acrylic acid-containing composition is produced by oxidizing the resultant acrolein. When the boron salt and/or the zinc salt of the phosphoric acid in the catalyst used for the dehydration of the glycerol has a crystal structure, the attached amount of a carbon-like material attached to the salt can be reduced, and when phenol and/or 1-hydroxyacetone is removed from the acrolein-containing composition, the yield of the acrylic acid can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
