<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of appropriately initializing a toner concentration sensor mounted in a developing device in a process unit while achieving reuse of the developing device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the process unit which holds the developing device 40Y, the toner concentration sensor 46Y detecting toner concentration of the developer in the developing device and a photoreceptor 3Y in a common holding body and can be integrally attached to/detached from an image forming apparatus body as one unit. The apparatus includes a change characteristic storage means that measures change characteristic of an output value from the toner concentration sensor relative to change of process linear velocity while changing the process linear velocity or change characteristic of an input value relative to change of the process linear velocity under a condition that the output value from the toner concentration sensor is made constant and stores the change characteristic into a data recording means, before a new process unit is attached to the image forming apparatus body and is used for the first time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
