<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective claw for reducing the load on a photoconductor in an electrophotographic image-forming apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The protective claw 30 comprises: a protective claw end 30a which is a leading end portion of the protective claw; a recording material-receiving portion 30b; a protective claw-positioning portion 30c which is a portion abutting against a photosensitive drum 11; and a protective claw-rotating shaft 30d. In the protective claw 30, the protective claw end 30a for guiding a recording material 2 from the photosensitive drum 11 to the sheet receiving portion 30b when the recording material 2 enters and the protective claw-positioning portion 30c for positioning the protective claw 30 by abutting against the photosensitive drum 11 are separated. The protective claw end 30a is provided halfway between the protective claw-rotating shaft 30d and the protective claw-positioning portion 30c. Further, the protective claw-positioning portion 30c is in a curved shape and abuts against the photosensitive drum 11 on a downstream side in a rotational direction of the photosensitive drum 11.
