A suspension device (1) having a vehicle height adjusting function is provided with a spring element (S) functioning as a suspension spring mounted between an unsprung member (W) and a sprung member (B) of a vehicle, an actuator (A) mounted between a position in the middle of the spring element (S) and the sprung member (B) or the unsprung member (W) and adjusting the height of the vehicle, and a fluid pressure damper (D) mounted parallel to the spring element (S). With the suspension device, adjustment of the height of the vehicle by the actuator (A) requires the actuator only to generate a thrust force corresponding to a spring force of the spring element (S), which spring force increases and decreases as the spring element is retracted and extended. The structure improves response in vehicle height adjustment, and the actuator (A) does not obstruct the extension and retraction of the fluid pressure damper (D) when external vibration is inputted into the device.
