An adaptable wheel assembly, comprises an integral blank wheel and a cover member removably attached to the blank wheel. A disk portion of the blank wheel is formed without decorative openings therethrough and has an angularly uniform outer surface. The disk portion of the blank wheel has first threaded holes provided adjacent a rim portion of the blank wheel, while a hub portion thereof includes at least one second threaded hole provided adjacent a pilot bore of the blank wheel. The cover member has a plurality of first holes aligned with the first threaded holes and at least one second hole aligned with the at least one second threaded hole. First threaded fasteners extend through the first holes to engage the first threaded holes, while at least one second threaded fastener extends through the at least one second hole to engage the at least one second threaded hole.
