A dielectric ceramic composition characterized by comprising: barium titanate including barium titanate having a hexagonal structure as a main component; and an element (M). The composition is further characterized in that the element (M) has an effective ion radius within the ±20% range based on the effective ion radius of Ba2+ in a 12-coordination state or on the effective ion radius of Ti4+ in a 6-coordination state, and that the element (M) has a higher ionic valance than the Ba or Ti.
