PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door knob device prevented from being picked since a key hole is absent, capable of preventing the locking section from being broken, and obtained by changing a conventional device inexpensively and easily in a short time. SOLUTION: An outdoor side door knob mechanism is formed into a door knob 30 with a built-in clutch comprising a spindle 31 rotating an opening/closing lever 43, a free handle 32 rotatably attached to the spindle, and an exciting clutch for engaging and disengaging the spindle with and from the free handle by an electric signal. During the locking, the free handle is rotated idle and the unlocking is disabled. When an unlocking control means engages the exciting clutch according to the authentication information of an IC card, the unlocking is enabled by the free handle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
