PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary member connection device capable of attaching a temporary member such as a handrail pole to a side beam or a horizontal member with different dimensions and shapes of cross sections. SOLUTION: Support members 11, 18 support temporary members 2, 7, respectively, and prevent the horizontal member or the side beam from being displaced upward relative to temporary member connection devices 1, 1' by coming into contact with the upper part of the horizontal member or the side beam 3, respectively. A side contact surface 32 formed by the inner surfaces of first sidewall sections 12, 24 is brought into surface contact with the first side surface 3b of the horizontal member or the side beam. A swing member 14 is pivotally connected to second sidewall sections 13, 17, and the lower sloped contact surface 34 thereof is brought into point contact with the lower end corner section 3f of the horizontal member or the side beam.
