The invention relates to a method making it possible to display on a computer screen an item of information associated with one or more key words and in which: clients associate an item of information with a group of words containing one or more "requested" key words chosen from a database; a user selects one or more "offered" key words chosen from the database; and, for each group of "requested" words, the semantic proximity of the words "offered" and of said "requested" words is analysed by calculating a score inversely proportional to the number of links separating said words on an ontology graph, said score being calculated by averaging the sub-scores obtained for each pair consisting of an "offered" word and a "requested" word. The information associated with the group of "requested" words with the highest score is displayed.
