<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read, expand and display a plurality of image files by reading a first image file, then simultaneously processing expansion of the data read and reading of the next image file, and sequentially processing these operations. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When there is an instruction for a request for reproducing N(20) frames, a reproduction task collectively issues a read request of 20 frames to a file task. In accordance with the request, the file task performs sequential read processing and notifies the reproduction task regarding the result thereof as a completion notification which has been read.In the reproduction task, expansion processing of the read file is performed in respect to the read completion notification, and display processing is performed continuously; and accordingly, reading processing and expansion/display processing can be conductedcontinuously without breaks, while reading processing is conducted on a file of the second image, after readingprocessing has been performed on a file of a first image; expansion and displaying of the first read file of the first image can be processed, and likewise, while reading processing is performed on a file of a third image, expansion and displaying of the previous second image are conducted.
