<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide digital equipment, a program and a method for controlling the digital equipment for reducing the capacity of the storage region of the storage part of digital equipment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Digital equipment is provided with a storage part having a first storage region and a second storage region; a decision part for deciding which of the first storage region and the second storage is subject to the writing of data; a first counting part for counting the number of times when the data have been written in the first storage region; a second counting part for counting the number of times when the data have been written in the second storage region; a first writing part for stopping the writing of the data in the first storage region when the number of times counted by the first counting part exceeds the prescribed number of times; and a second writing part for continuing the writing of the data in the second storage region even when the number of times counted by the second counting part exceeds the prescribed number of times.
