<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment agent for an acid hair dye which, when applied to hair before the hair is treated with the acid hair dye, can enhance the dyeability of the hair therewith and the color retention of the dyed hair and has such excellent safety as not to cause hair damages or skin rashes.
