Micronized wax particles (6), are claimed, where the surface of the wax particles comprises a coating with discrete solid particles (3a). An independent claim is included for a method for preparing the micronized wax particles comprises spraying a wax melt (2a) through a nozzle in air or inert gas atmosphere, passing through temperature gradient, and cooling, where: the air or the inert gas is used as cooling agent and the wax particles formed from the sprayed wax melt are contacted with the solid particles at 250[deg] C-0[deg] C before the step of cooling.
