<p>A door closer for mounting between a door leaf and a door frame is disclosed. The door closer comprises an elongate housing 2 for mounting in one of the door leaf or door frame, a plunger 6 disposed in and movable along the housing and a biasing element 4 disposed in the housing which biases the plunger inwardly of the housing. A rigid tension member 14 has a first end 16 pivotally connected at a first pivot 18 to the plunger 6 and a second end 20 which is pivotally connected at a second pivot 22 to an anchoring element 24. The door closer comprises a spring and piston arrangement. Three variations on the core features are disclosed. The first invention relates to the profile of the rigid tension member, the second and third inventions relate to specific arrangements of a threaded adjustor pin for adjusting the closing force of the door closer.</p> |
