Coupling of control devices

The method involves generating a rail signal by a rail format processor (5) of a control device (1). The control device is coupled with another control device (1') by a data bus (9). The rail format processor of the former control device is communicated, so that a desired rail signal is generated by an operating unit (3') of the latter control device through communication with the rail format processor of the former control device. The communication with the rail format processor of the former control device takes place in a bidirectional manner. An independent claim is also included for a control device for controlling an electric model track.
