A system for displaying 3-dimensional images is provided. The system comprises a monitor, a rendering module adapted to provide image data for display by the monitor, and a point-of-view module for determining the position of a viewer relative to the monitor, wherein the output of said rendering module is dependent on the determined position of the viewer relative to the monitor. The invention also provides a method of displaying an image of an object, the method comprising the steps of: determining a position of a viewer in a common co-ordinate system; determining the position of the object in the common co-ordinate system; and using a rendering module to provide data for displaying the object so that, when displayed, the object appears to the viewer as it would when viewed from the determined position of the viewer.
The invention also provides a polar correction module adapted to adjust the brightness of pixels of the image to be displayed in dependence on the position of the viewer. |
