A method for controlling the run-up of a conveyor belt (2), wherein the set point value of the speed of the belt (v*) of a driving drum (4) is increased over a first perio d of time (t1) by means of rising acceleration (a*) and over a second period of time (t2) by means o f falling acceleration (a*). The curve of acceleration (a*) in relation to time (t) is positive for the second time period (t2).
