PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thicknesses of an optical head for illuminating a recording medium with light, an arm mechanism including the optical head, and an information recording device including the arm mechanism. SOLUTION: The optical head for irradiating the recording medium with light is provided with a head body section which includes a lower surface that faces the recording medium and which is for moving relatively with respect the recording medium while being separated from the same, and an optical element which includes a holding section mounted to a lateral face of the head body section in order to hold a light introduction section, and a deflection section for deflecting outgoing light from the light introduction section.
