PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weeder having functions preventing ballast scattering to the outside of the body. SOLUTION: A weeder 1 includes a body 2, front wheels 13 and rear wheels 15, provided rotatably at the front part and the rear part of the body 2, and a cutter blade 11 set rotatably at the lower part of the body 2, and performs weeding of a weeding target area by rotating and driving the blade 11 while rotating and driving at least the front wheels 13 and/or rear wheels 15 to travel on the ground of the weeding target area, wherein at least a protecting cover 20 closing an aperture formed between the side of the body 2 and the ground, among the apertures formed between the side, the front and the rear part of the body 2 and the ground of the weeding target area, is disposed on the side or the inside of the side of the body 2 so as to extend downward from the side or the inside of the side of the body 2.
