The machine (1) has a workstation (4) with a control device (8) that is attached at a central control unit (10). A functional element such as open end spinning device (5) and a thread draw off device, executes a spinning process. The central control unit is regulated by a data input device (11) and a computer device (12). The computer device is designed to compute an optimized base setting of spinning parameters based on a mathematical calculation process of a spinner and known spin parameters, and to transmit the base setting to a workstation for executing of spinning process.
